Holiday Vacation! Thanksgiving for 2 in Tuscany.
Hotel Toscana Verde
The Hotel Residence Toscana Verde is a beautiful, skillfully renovated complex. The impressive building was once used for drying tobacco leaves and making cigars, the hotel is surrounded by a 35,000 square meter park in the midst of a protected nature reserve.
Surrounded by trees, Hotel Toscana Verde has a view of farmhouses and the rolling hills typical of Tuscany, which has much to offer whatever the time of year.
On the Road of the Chianti
The Roads of Wine are paths within wine growing areas characterized by vineyards and farms with wine cellars and by natural, cultural and historical attractions. Within a short distance, you can explore the rich history of Tuscan art and culture and visit the wine cellars where some of the most famous wines of the world are produced.
Toscana Verde Hotel is situated in Laterina, in the heart of Tuscany. There is a great variety of landscapes: thick forests of oak and poplars, plains where sunflowers, grain and corn are cultivated. The Arno river creates moist areas where you can see a large number of different birds.
Leonardo's masterpiece the Mona Lisa was commissioned for their new home in Tuscany by the Florentine silk merchant Francesco del Grocondo. It is a portrait of his wife Lisa del Giocondo, a member of the Gherardini family of Florence and Tuscany. It never hung there because Leonardo labored over it for 7 years not finishing it until shortly before he died in 1519. He had moved to France in the interim at the invitation of King Francois I, and ultimately it ended up in his collection, and remained in the royal collections until it was moved to the Louvre after the French Revolution.
The Toscana Verde makes a good home base for exploring the art of Tuscany and Umbria in cities like Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Cortona, and Perugia as well as the splendid valleys of the Casentino and the Chianti. And, of course, Florence is a shopping mecca; there are discount outlets of some of its mos
t famous stores on the outskirts of Florence.
